Swaggarlicious FC on the road to deliver Coaching & Education Day at Jubo Dhol in Bradford
Swaggarlicious FC were back on the road for a trip to Yorkshire to visit Jubo Dhol, a grassroots football club based in Bradford.
UEFA B Licensed Head Coach Manisha Tailor delivered a unique Coaching & Education Day to a group of 20 girls aged 6-16.
This event gave Swaggarlicious an opportunity to engage with young girls and women, currently playing with Jubo Dhol’s girl’s academy, who have a genuine love for football.
After the well-received and engaging day, Manisha said:
“The founders of Jubo Dhol had invited me to deliver a coach education day with their girl's academy.
“I went through various activities with the girl's and provided the two female coaches, Sanah and Yasmin, with a task to complete which would enable them to structure their sessions utilising The FA 4-corner model.
“It is good to see the club founders being proactive in wanting to develop their female coaches and an honour for me to be part of this process. Both Sanah and Yasmin volunteer their time and Nurul and Shummell have been resourceful with very little finances to develop their club.
“As we know, volunteers are the life-blood of grassroots football and I, with Swaggarlicious, will endeavor to support Jubo Dhol in further developing their football club.”
Shummell Uddin and Nurul Hussain, founders of Jubo Dhol said:
“As the co-founder of Jubo Dhols girls football academy based in Bradford, my aim was always to ensure that we introduce a diverse range of positive role models for the girls in our group. Who better for the girls to aspire to then the lady who has dedicated her life to football, who not only is a brilliant footballer but an ambassador in inspiring young girls and and challenging stereotypes.”
Yasmin Islam, a coach on the day said:
“The session with Manisha was pivotal in enhancing my understanding of the fundamental pillars governing football coaching. I understood the importance of considering the technical aspects of football coaching alongside the physical needs of individual players, whilst simultaneously facilitating to their psychological and social development.
“This approach definitely led to a holistically successful session. Such as, when practicing dribbling, encouraging the players to keep a high tempo whilst motivating them showed in the players eagerness to partake further."
Sanah Razak, a second coach on the day said:
“The session delivered by Manisha was great. I was able to observe how the players responded to the different information being fed to them.
“I learnt that as a coach I do not have to over complicate a session to try and get the best out of the session, as in previous sessions I spent a lot of time setting up grids and new drills.
Also, the session made me realise that I need too start asking more questions. For example, before moving onto the next drills ask the players what they gained from it and how they could improve themselves. This will get the players more involved and develop their social and physical skills.”
