Ex Barnet striker Jamal Lowe secures promotion into National League for Hampton & Richmond Borough
Jamal Lowe fired Hampton & Richmond Borough to promotion into the National League South after a goalless draw over Enfield Town at the Beveree Stadium on the final day of the Ryman League Premier Division season.
The 21-year-old scored 17 times and assisted 16 goals this season for the Beavers in all competitions and has been pivotal to the club's clinical form since joining from Hemel Hempstead Town in November.
The former Barnet striker has been deployed on a wide position by manager Alan Dowson this season, but has benefitted immensely from the free role to score and assist the goals to clinch promotion.
On promotion Lowe said: "When the final whistle went it was just sigh of relief that it was finally over and complete. For weeks we've been thinking what if but when that whistle went there were no what ifs and we became champions without relying on anyone else.
"The most important thing was sticking together and always believing because there was times when we could have crumbled but we stay focussed and finished the job together.
"When i signed I think we was fourth, with a game in hand, so we was in a great position already. Everything started to click and we starting winning games by four and five goals.
"Winning the league and making my first professional debut are both up there with the proudest moments in my career."
On his stunning form this campaign Lowe said: " Personally it's been a good season for me. I've been playing in a wide position and managed to get 17 goals & 16 assists in all competitions, which has been my biggest goal scoring season to date and previously I've been playing up front in a central position.
"Playing out wide gives me more of a chance to isolate players one against one which is where I feel I can impact the game.
"Winning the league has given me more drive to win more and achieve more in my career."
