Ali Fuseini not ruling out play-offs for Bromley after third straight win over Welling United
Ali Fuseini admits Bromley have one eye on the National League play-offs after their 2-0 win over Kent rivals Welling United took them to within ten points of the top five with a game in hand.
Rohdell Gordon opened the scoring as early as the 9th minute before a penalty eleven minutes into the second half from Moses Emmanuel ensured all three points stayed at Hayes Lane.
Midfielder Fuseini praised the Lillywhites in claiming their third win in a row in difficult conditions:
“It was a good win considering the conditions it was played in and I thought we played well.
“It’s very important to win three games on the bounce because runs like that move you up the table. All we have to do now is keep winning matches.”
A shut out at the back made it two clean sheets in a row, following on from the 1-0 win over Kidderminster and Fuseini believes hard work on the training ground is paying dividends:
"We have been working hard on the training ground on our defensive aspects and it's paying off. We're happy that things are coming together and working in our favour."
The win moves Bromley up to 13th, ten points off the play-off places with a game in hand, and the 27-year-old admits the play-offs is still an outside possibility:
“You never know but all we can do is win our remaining matches and see where that leaves us at the end of the season. But the main focus right now is staying up and finishing as high as we can.”
The win over the Wings marked interim manager Neil Smith’s fifth game in charge with Fuseini playing every minute of each match and has been impressed with the change at the club:
“It's been good so far. He has been inputting his own philosophy and it's working good so far. I’ve been doing okay personally, I can always do a lot better so it’s a case of us all working hard for the next game and for the remainder of the season.”
Up next for Fuseini and Bromley is an away trip to Chester.Click here to stay up to date with AtTheMatch
